Whether you are a long-standing vegan or simply curious about a plant-based diet, there are options for you to dine out and enjoy vegan and vegetarian options in the Cayman Islands. The reason for eating vegan varies. Some people choose to go vegan because of the health benefits associated with a plant-based diet, while others do it because of their love of animals. Then some people believe that eating vegan foods is better for the environment. Whichever camp you fall into, the Cayman Islands is serving up some delicious vegan and vegetarian foods.

Here are the top three best vegan and vegetarian restaurants in the Cayman Islands.

Bread and Chocolate Vegan Bistro

Bread and Chocolate Vegan Bistro offers up all-day breakfast items and lunch options. This vegan eatery has a wide selection of breakfast classics such as pancakes, French toast, and tofu scrambles. Try the signature Bread and Chocolate dish that features French toast stuffed with chocolate hazelnut butter and bananas dipped in coconut tahini batter and topped with blueberries. For a little extra, you can add house-made coconut ice cream to the dish. Yummy, right?

Located in the heart of George Town, on Dr Roy’s Drive, the restaurant is open for breakfast and lunch, Monday to Friday from 8am to 3pm and for dinner on weekdays from 5.30pm to 8pm. On the weekends and public holidays, they open from 8am to 2pm.

Vivo Cayman

Vivo Cayman offers up a great selection of vegan, vegetarian and pescatarian meals for diners. They have some inventive plant-based menu items such as the cocomari, an appetizer that features crispy young coconut calamari styled served with aioli sauce. For a main dish, you can try the delicious Vivo Loaf that has lentils and mushrooms stuffed with cauliflower and topped with garlic coconut cream sauce.  The loaf is served with a mixed salad and Brussels sprouts.

Find Vivo on the North West Point Road in West Bay, open Wednesday to Friday, 11am to 9pm, and Saturday and Sunday, 9am to 9pm.

Island Naturals Café Cayman

Island Naturals Café Cayman is a vegetarian café with a wide selection of plant-based meal items for breakfast and lunch. The restaurant offers up delicious and filling salads, wraps, pasta, bowls and soups daily. You can also indulge in freshly made smoothies, speciality coffee beverages and teas.
