Island Epicurean’s Restaurant Month Pick of the Week: Tukka East End

Island Epicurean’s Restaurant Month Pick of the Week: Tukka East End

Tukka by Chef Ron Hargrave has been a staple restaurant in East End for more than a decade.

This Australian chef has introduced Cayman to his Down Under cuisine and intertwined it with Caribbean ingredients and flavours making it one of the most unique concepts on island.

This colourful, seaside restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating, but their open-air deck is the most sought after because of the constant sea breeze and blue-hued backdrop that’s home to the famous Wreck of the Ten Sails.

Tukka is the only restaurant in the eastern districts taking part in Restaurant Month, and like many in the area it was impacted severely by the pandemic.  Even so, Chef Ron and his team served free meals to residents in need demonstrating their charitable nature and commitment to the community.

Enjoy the peaceful drive east and stop in for their delicious 3-course lunch or dinner menu at only CI$25 and CI$35, respectively.

Tukka has chosen to highlight some of their favourite dishes, including their tender Jerk Chicken Brochette, decadent Steak & Mushroom Pie, local pan-seared Red Snapper and saucy Vegetable Curry.  To start you’ll have a choice between their flavourful soup or a fresh salad, and you can choose to end with a homemade dessert or have a glass of wine to complement your meal.

Tukka is my Restaurant Month Pick of the Week because of their stunning natural ambiance, positive vibes and flavourful food.
