The Best Mexican restaurants in the Cayman Islands

Agave Cayman 

For authentic Mexican cuisine, look no further than Agave Cayman. The dishes follow traditional Mexican recipes and are handmade using the freshest ingredients sourced locally in the Cayman Islands. On your next visit to Agave, try the tasty Sayulita fish enchilada with fresh Cayman fish, crispy three-layered corn tortilla enchilada, tomatillo, Agave cheese blend and pico de gallo.  

The restaurant is on North Sound Road in George Town and is open Monday and Tuesday at 5pm for dinner and Wednesday to Saturday at noon. 

Casa 43 Cayman 

Located on Canal Point Road, Casa 43 Cayman is known for serving up bold and exciting Mexican flavours. You will enjoy the warmth and a unique sense of welcome when you visit Casa 43. 

Diners can expect an explosion of flavours.  Sample signature dishes such as the La Mexicana Burger features an 8oz beef burger, bacon guacamole, pepper jack cheese, roasted tomato mayo, topped with bacon-wrapped pepper jack cheese stuffed jalapeno served with smoked chili fries and chipotle aioli.

Casa 43 only accepts walk-ins, so go early. This restaurant is open Monday through Saturday from 11.30am to 10pm and Sunday from 4pm to 10pm. 

Pico Taqueria Cayman 

Pico Taqueria Cayman offers diners freshly made burritos, tacos, nachos, salads, quesadillas and desserts served up with Mexican beers and margaritas. We recommend you order the burrito bowl with rice topped with your choice of meat or vegetables, black beans, corn pico de gallo, cheese, salsa and crema. And don’t skip dessert, you can finish off your meal with a slice of tres leches.  

This casual dining restaurant on Printers Way is open Monday to Saturday from 11am to 7pm. 

Coccoloba Cayman 

Inspired by Mexican street food, the Coccoloba Cayman menu is filled with delectable options. You can try an assortment of tacos and tostadas with smoked chicken, shrimp, fish, pork belly, beef and roasted pumpkin, all made from freshly made in-house tortillas. Sip on a tequila cocktail as you watch the sunset!

Coccoloba Cayman is situated on the beach at the Kimpton Seafire Resort and Spa on Tanager Way. The restaurant is open daily from 11am to 9pm. 

Loco Cayman

Visit Loco Cayman to experience vibrant local flavours used in exciting ways to create a memorable dining experience. The restaurant is devoted to offering authentic Mexican cuisine. You can feast on corn tortillas, tacos, fajitas, and much more. The eatery is open Monday through Saturday from 11am to midnight, so you can visit for lunch, dinner, or even a late-night drink. The creative menu boasts Mexican specialty foods, and there’s also a margarita, tequila, and mezcal drinks menu. 

Loco Cayman is located on the Paseo in Camana Bay. 

Spanglish

Spanglish is a top-rated Mexican restaurant and bar in the Cayman Islands. Located on Seven Mile Beach, the restaurant offers a cosy ambience where you can choose from tacos, fresh seafood, Mexican and Latin American dishes, plus delicious cocktails. There is also a daily happy hour from 4pm to 7pm. 

The restaurant is open 11am to 10pm on Sundays to Thursdays and 11am to 11pm on Friday and Saturday. You won’t want to miss Taco Tuesdays at Spanglish!

Taco Cantina

With a slogan that promises the ‘best taco and margarita on Grand Cayman’, you must add Taco Cantina to your list of restaurants to visit. Taco Cantina is the perfect place to enjoy a meal with family and friends. They have a wide selection of tacos made with hand-rolled corn tortillas and the freshest ingredients that are bursting with flavour. 

The restaurant was established in the East End on Cinco De Mayo in 2018 but relocated to Buckingham Square in September 2022. There are vegetarian and vegan options as well.
