The Best Smokehouses and BBQs in the Cayman Islands

Lloyd’s Smokehouse: Barbeque and Grill, West Bay Road 

Lloyd’s Smokehouse serves slow-cooked Texan-styled BBQ, seafood, and steak. From the smokehouse pit, you can order beef brisket, juicy and flavourful chicken in your choice of quarters or a whole chicken, fall-off-the-bone baby back ribs, pulled pork and beef sausages. Popular side dishes included baked potatoes, mac and cheese, buttered corn on the cob and homemade cornbread. 

Look for the smoke on West Bay Road (!) near the Strand, Lloyd’s is open Monday through Friday 11.30am to midnight and on Saturday and Sunday from 8am to midnight. 

Peppers Bar and Grill, West Bay Road 

You can expect a casual and inviting atmosphere at Peppers Bar and Grill. Enjoy the delicious BBQ jerk chicken, ribs, grilled steaks, burgers and fish, and homemade pizzas. You’ll find jerk pork, chicken, sausages and BBQ chicken plus varied appetisers, sides, and salads, and there’s a kid’s menu as well as a dessert list.  

Located along West Bay Road, Peppers Bar and Grill is open Monday through Saturday from 11,30am to 10pm and closes at 9pm on Sundays.  

Lone Star Bar and Grill, West Bay Road  

Lone Star Bar and Grill has been a Seven Mile landmark for decades. Visit for bar bites, drinks and enjoy a lively welcoming atmosphere. But the sports bar is also known for its burgers, sandwiches and classic BBQ. You can order smoked beef brisket, smoked chicken, baby back ribs, jerk BBQ chicken and if you are in the mood for a little of everything from the BBQ try the BBQ combo. 

Visit Lone Star on West Bay Road, the eatery is open daily from 11.30am to midnight. 

The Brasserie Caboose, Cricket Square

Enjoy a causal dining lunch spot that has delicious smoked meat, fish and tofu. Your entrees will be accompanied by hot or cold sides including salads, slaws, classic rice and beans, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, and much more. The Brasserie Caboose serves premium pork, tender beef including brisket, turkey, and chicken. There are also vegetarian and vegan options to choose from. 

This gourmet smokehouse is at Cricket Square at is open weekdays for lunch from 10.30am to 2pm

Big Tree BBQ, East End

Big Tree BBQ offers a taste of Cayman Islands styled BBQ. The roadside pit serves up chicken, beef including ribs, oxtail along delicious sides like rice and beans, corn on the cob, slaw, cornbread and plantains. 

The East End favourite is open Monday through Friday from 11am to 6pm and on Sunday from 11am to 6pm. It is closed on Monday and Saturday.
