We all know and love the community of bakers and treat makers that we have in Grand Cayman! Their talent should not go unnoticed as we approach Valentine’s Day (which is quite easily the biggest dessert holiday of the year!).  

Here’s a list of some of the small businesses that are preparing sweet tasting gifts that will emit love from the first glance to the last bite.

If you are looking for a small gift that will blow your Valentine’s mind, then you need to get in touch with Whisked Away (@whiskedaway.ky) as she’s selling four gourmet cupcakes at just CI$25.  Not only do the cupcakes have the most creative names – “A Rosé By Any Other Name” – but they have delicious fillings, are decorated to perfection and the flavours are creative and balanced.  To make the cupcakes even more love-ly she adds a specialty topper, like candied lemon peel or a heart-shaped cookie that you can customise with a phrase or name.  Pre-orders must be made by 9th February, so email her at contact@whiskedaway.ky before it’s too late.

Show stopping cake baker, Jazzy Cakes (@jazzycakes_ky) is also feeling the love and selling an explosion of sweets in one box.  Her treat boxes for Valentine’s Day contain all the desserts you can think of, making it perfect if your loved one has a huge, sweet tooth.  The centrepiece of the box is a four-inch miniature cake reminiscent of sweetheart candies with a Valentine’s message written on top, and then it’s surrounded by a ton of goodies: cake bombs, triple chocolate brownies, chocolate dipped strawberries and a variety of romantic candies.  This deliciousness in a box costs CI$75 and pre-orders must be placed by 9th February.  You can email her at jazzycakesky@gmail.com for more information.

Lastly, there’s Graze Girl (@grazegirlcayman) who is known for her intricate grazing tables, boards and boxes.  In honour of Valentine’s Day, she has created a wide range of boxes to choose from (seven to be exact!) and making them available even before we approach the big day – specifically 4th, 11th, 13th and 14th February.  Some of the boxes she’s offering are purely sweet, simply savoury or a mix of both and I’m proud to say there’s even one for vegans!  This all seems like a lot of work, so it’s great to see that she has collaborated with Dipped by D (@dippedbydky), for her romantic chocolate covered strawberries as part of the “Be Mine” box, and Poly’s Cupcakes (@polys_cupcakes) for her 3 flavours of cupcakes featured in the “First Crush” box.  Prices per box range from CI$36-CI$98 and you have to pre-order by 12th February, email her at grazegirlcayman@gmail.com.
